Samuel Knight International CEO Steven Rawlingson is taking part in the CEO Sleepout this March to raise awareness for homelessness and poverty in the UK. The event last year saw over 100 participants raise upwards of £90,000 pounds for some amazing causes.

CEO Sleepout is a charity that was set up to fight homelessness and poverty by encouraging executives to sleep outdoors for a night in return for sponsorship from their business contacts, friends and family. Steven will spend the night of Thursday the 1st March sleeping outside in St James’ Park, the home of Newcastle United football club. Speaking about the challenge, he said ‘’we’re all fortunate enough to have a home, a family, a job and a regular income. However, there are others who are less fortunate, often through no fault of their own. Compassion is important – these things I’ve mentioned are not luxuries, they’re necessities. That is why I want to do my part.’’

Steven has set up a JustGiving page that has already raised more than £1,200 with the money to go to the following charities:

  • Prince’s Trust

  • Changing Lives

  • Newcastle United Foundation

  • DePaul

  • UK Foodbanks

  • UK Church Urban Funds
